This is such an interesting story woven together with such a beautiful sense of vulnerability that seems to touch upon many aspects of the human condition. The themes are timeless. What a breath of fresh air.

What could be just another story of a family torn by frustration, temptation and redemption becomes a riveting tale in Ms. Gery's hands. It is definitely a worthwhile read.

It's a combination of the language, time period, and setting; it all was so far from my normal life that it was a pleasure to read and go somewhere else. I was totally immersed in the story.
